Check.Slash.Survive. is an exciting new twist on a long standing fundraising event formerly known as Pink in the Rink at LSSU. This event combines a Laker Hockey game with raffle items, silent auction for Laker Hockey jerseys, apparel sales, skate with the Lakers after the game and more. White Out Domestic Violence
Lake State teams up with the Diane Peppler Resource Center and several agencies in the local community to create the Sexual Violence Prevention Team of the Eastern Upper Peninsula, they present the “White Out”. The goal of the 'White Out' night is for Laker fans to wear as much white as possible to bring awareness and help end domestic and sexual violence.To learn more about the Diane Peppler Resource Center visit dprcenter.org or all 906-635-0566.
Laker Athletics has aligned with the United Way of EUP to forge a formal partnership between the two organizations. “The power of bringing our staff, coaches, and student-athletes in alignment with our community is beneficial to everyone,” said Dr. David Paitson, Director of Athletics and United Way Board of Directors member. “It is a hands-on way our team can contribute both volunteer manpower and awareness of issues to improve community conditions.”
Laker Athletics will be hands on in supporting numerous events including Global Youth Service Day, Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, Days of Service, Thanksgiving Project, and the Local Heroes Chili Cook-Off just to name a few.
