LSSU Track & Field Brings Home Six Top-10 Finishes at Spartan Invite

EAST LANSING, Mich.— The Lake Superior State men's and women's track & field team traveled to Michigan State this weekend competing in the Auto Owners Insurance Spartan Invitational of Friday and Saturday.

The Lakers finished the weekend with six top-10 finishes including two second-place finishes from freshman Ashley Mullings in the women's long jump (5.40m) and David Mitter on in the 5000m (15:31.38).

Kye Heimonen placed second in the javelin (42.64m). Riley Collins placed 10th in the high jump (1.55m) while McKenzie Richardson also collected a 10th place finish in the 5000m (19:43.39).

Lake State will return to the track next weekend as they travel to St. Norbert College for a one-day meet.
