SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. — The Lake Superior State women's basketball team fell to Grand Valley, 82-43, Thursday evening in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match up inside the Bud Cooper Gymnasium.
With the loss, the LSSU falls to 2-22 overall on the year with a 1-17 mark in league competition. GVSU improves to 22-5, 14-4.
Lake State finished the game shooting 37.5 (15-of-40) percent from the field and 46.7 (7-of-15) percent from three-point range. Grand Valley shot 48.1 and 29.4 percent.
GVSU held a, 35-24, advantage in the rebounding column while also winning the turnover battle, 20-8.
Junior guard Courtney Jacobsen led the Lake State offense with 11 points and was 3-of-5 from behind the arc. Claire Radtke and Jenna Gregory each posted seven.
Cassidy Boensch and Jenn DeBoer led Grand Valley offensively tallying 17 points respectively. Natalie Koenig finished with 12.
The Lakers are back inside Bud Cooper on Saturday (1 p.m.) as they host Purdue Northwest in their final regular season contest of the season.
