Women's Golf Battles Rain, Sit in 14th After Day One of Ashland Invitational

ASHLAND, Ohio.- The Lake Superior State University women's golf team traveled to play in the Ashland Invitational this weekend at Ashland Golf Club. 

With wet conditions the women battled to a 338 tally for the day placing them in 14th. Leading the Lakers with a score of 84 was Naomi Keyte, Tatiana Hulan, and Hailey Watkins. Taylor Simoneau shot an 86 and Taylor Trzasko shot an 87.

"They got off to a rough start with the bad conditions but they held their composure and battled with great attitudes," said assistant player coach Gavin MacIver.

Lake State is hoping to come back strong in Sunday's final round. Tee times begin at 9 a.m.
