Lakers to host Dig Pink event for breast cancer awareness
SAULT STE. MARIE - The Lake Superior State volleyball team will host a "Dig Pink" breast cancer awareness event in conjunction with Saturday’s Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match against Lake Erie.
The Lakers and Storm meet at 2 p.m. in Bud Cooper Gymnasium.
Members of LSSU women's basketball team will be selling pink ribbons for $1 and selling tickets to win three pink-themed gift baskets, a pink jersey and a pink driver/putter set. Dig Pink t-shirts are $10.
The Laker volleyball players will be wearing pink uniforms in support of the "Dig Pink” movement and the fight against breast cancer.
The Lakers also play host to Ashland at 4 p.m. Friday as part of a volleyball-hockey double-header.
