TIFFIN, Ohio - Lake Superior State finished 12th in the
8,000-meter men's race and 15th in the 6,000-meter women's race at
the 2014 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Cross
Country Championships hosted Saturday by Tiffin.
Junior Adam Birkeland placed 44th in 25:44.2 to lead the Laker
men. Sophomore Ryan Rogers was their No. 2 runner, finishing 59th
in 26:06.6. Freshman Cole Rieboldt was 100th in 27:00.1, followed
by freshman Hunter Kilpatrick, who was 107th in 27:30.7, and senior
Logan Boutorwick, who was 110th in 27:35.4.

Grand Valley State won both team titles. Ashland's Nick Hall won
the men's individual title with a time of 23:58.9. GVSU's Kendra
Foley took the women's title in 20:31.8.

The top five for the Laker women were: 84. freshman Morgan
Sawgle, 23:35.8; 106. senior Jessica Allen, 24:10.1; 113. freshman
McKenzie Richardson, 24:40.9; 117. sophomore Hannah Passino,
24:50.9; 124. sophomore Casey Shafer, 25:10.
