MILFORD – Lake Superior State placed 13^th in the men's 8K and 15^th in the women's 6K at the 2015 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships held Saturday at Kensington Metro Park.

Garrett Smith placed 61^st in 26:27.9 to lead the Lake Superior State men's team. Adam Birkeland was 72^nd in 26:43.1, and was followed by Ryan Rogers, who was 73^rd in 26:47.2. Paul Burke finished fourth for the Lakers and 77^th overall in 26:55.8. Rounding out LSSU's top seven were Jack Miles, who was 81^st in 27:12.9, Jacob Baker, who was 93^rd in 27:35.6, and Parker Wyngaard, who was 98^th in 28:02.5.

Lydia Heimonen placed 62^nd in 24:27.2 to lead the LSSU women's squad. MacKenzie Kelley was 77nd in 25:08, and Trudie Mulville finished 82^nd in 25:17.9.Hannah Passino was 87^th with a time of 25:35, and McKenzie Richardson placed 88^th in 25:44.7. Hailey Foster was 90^th in 25:55, and Casey Shafer rounded out the field with a 95^th-place finish in 26:25.7.

Grand Valley State swept the men's and women's team titles. Tiffin's James Ngandu won the men's race in 24:06.8, and Michigan Tech's Anna-Catharina Wilhelm took the women's championship in 25:20.6.
