Sophomore (2014-15): Hit a home run and drove in 12 runs in 108 at-bats... Scored 13 runs and had 28 hits, including four doubles… Produced a .259 batting-average to rank fifth on the team... Was named to the 2015 All-GLIAC Honorable Mention Team… Was 2-for-4 and with a double and an RBI in a 6-2 win at McKendree (3/12)… Went 2-for-3 with a solo homerun and a double, while also recording a walk in a 13-12 loss at Ohio Dominican (3/30)… Went 1-for-3 with a two-run double in a 5-3 victory over Findlay (4/12)… Went 2-for-3 with an RBI and scored a run during a 6-2 win over Lake Erie (4/24).

Freshman (2013-14): Appeared in 31 games and made 87 at-bats… Hit .241 with five doubles and two triples while driving in 14 runs… Also scored 12 runs and drew eight walks.

Prep: Was a four-year varsity letter winner in softball and earned two letters for basketball at Weterford-Mott High School… Played for Michigan Lookouts  2011-13… Played for Oakland Sidewinders from 2008-11… With the Sidewinders, Banchiu won the 16U NSA State Championship and were state runner-up at the 14U level. In 2007-08 played for Compuware and finished ninth out of 81 teams in the World Series.

Personal: Daughter of Kathy and Dean Banchiu… 2013 graduate of Waterford-Mott H.S…. Member of National Honor Society and won Volunteer Recognition Award for Outstanding Community Involvement while in high school.
