Eric Snyder

Eric Snyder was named Head Coach of the Lake Superior State University (LSSU) Women’s Volleyball program in 2025, bringing with him over 20 years of collegiate coaching experience and a distinguished track record of championship success at the NCAA and NAIA levels.

Snyder enters the Laker program with a career head coaching record of 290-197, highlighted by multiple conference championships, NCAA Division III and NAIA Final Four appearances, and a 2020 NCCAA National Championship with Campbellsville University, where his team also achieved a No. 1 national ranking. His impact on the court is matched by his ability to develop high-performing student-athletes, having coached 17 All-Americans, 37 All-Conference honorees, and multiple conference Players of the Year across several programs.

Snyder's coaching excellence has been recognized on the national stage. He is a three-time Conference Coach of the Year across three different leagues and was named the 2020 AVCA and NAIA National Coach of the Year, 2019 NCCAA Regional Coach of the Year, and a 2009 AVCA Thirty Under Thirty Award recipient.

Most recently, Snyder served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at NCAA Division I University of North Carolina Wilmington, where he contributed to the program’s strategic development and talent acquisition. His résumé also includes starting the Bethel University men’s volleyball program, leading Campbellsville University (Ky.) to a 94-24 record in four seasons, and successful head coaching stints at Warner University, Coker University, and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

Throughout his career, Snyder has been recognized for his volleyball IQ, player development, and program-building expertise. His teams are known for their discipline, competitive edge, and academic commitment, consistently representing the highest standards of collegiate athletics.

Originally from New England, Snyder holds a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management/Marketing from Southern New Hampshire University and an MBA from Tiffin University, where he began his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant.

At Lake Superior State, Snyder leads the Laker Volleyball program into a new era with a vision of elevating it to the upper echelon of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and beyond.
