Conference South Division power Hillsdale swept Lake Superior State
3-0 Saturday at Bud Cooper Gymnasium.
The Chargers (16-3 overall, 9-2 GLIAC) maintained their
South Division lead with a 25-15, 25-14, 25-20 win. They had a .363
attack percentage for the match, but both teams hit will during the
final set. Hillsdale had 16 kills and a .429 attack rate during Set
3, while LSSU totaled 12 kills and a .320 rate. The Lakers (2-17
overall, 2-9 GLIAC) posted a .094 attack percentage for the
match.
Abby Shereda led LSSU with seven kills, a .357 attack
percentage and two block assists. Sara Hess added five kills
and one block solo. Janelle Balkwill finished with 23 assists, and
Brittany Newberry totaled 17 digs.
Ashlee Crowder totaled 12 kills for Hillsdale.
LSSU and Hillsdale will play in the GLIAC vs. GLVC Crossover
Tournament, which begins Friday in Lansing.
