SAULT STE. MARIE - Former Lake Superior State hockey coach Jeff
Jackson's induction into the LSSU Sports Hall of Fame will be held
in conjunction with the annual Soo BlueLiners Golf Outing during
the weekend of July 10-11.
Jackson, currently the head hockey coach at the University
of Notre Dame, led the Lakers to six straight NCAA Tournament
appearances from 1990-96 and national titles in 1992 and '94. He
also guided the Lakers to two Central Collegiate Hockey Association
regular-season titles and four CCHA Playoff championships.
The induction dinner for Jackson will be Friday, July 10, at the
LSSU Cisler Center. A cocktail reception begins at 7 p.m., followed
by a dinner at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person or $15 for anyone
participating in the golf outing the following day.
The 18-hole Soo BlueLiners golf scramble, which benefits Laker
hockey, begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, at the Sault Country
Club. The entry fee is $75 per person for Soo BlueLiners members or
$85 for non-members. LSSU students pay only $35. The golf
tournament includes door prizes, an auction, lunch on the course
