Box Score SAULT STE. MARIE - Lake Superior State got off to good starts
during all three sets of Saturday's Great Lakes Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference volleyball match, but Hillsdale found a way to
prevail every time, winning 25-17, 25-23, 25-21.
LSSU (4-16 overall, 2-11 GLIAC) led 10-5 during Set 1 and 22-20
during Set 2. Set 3 was tied 15-15 before Hillsdale (14-10 overall,
9-4 GLIAC) gathered enough momentum to put the match away.
Emily Snyder led the Lakers with 12 kills and 13 service points,
and Chloe Balanda had nine kills and a team-high .222 attack
percentage. Jen Marren followed with eight kills.
Janelle Nagy finished with 34 assists, and Meghan Drobish
totaled 13 digs. Billie McLeod led the Lakers in blocks with one
solo and two assists.
Caitlin Kopmeyer totaled 12 kills, and Briana Herr had eight
kills and eight blocks to lead Hillsdale. Erin Holsinger added nine
kills and five blocks. The Chargers totaled 23 team blocks, while
the Lakers had 10.
The Lakers play at Saginaw Valley State at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
