SAULT STE. MARIE - Findlay rained on Lake Superior State's Hawaiian Luau home volleyball opener at Bud Cooper Gymnasium, winning Friday's match, 25-19, 25-18, 25-21.

Sydne McMullen totaled seven kills, an impressive .583 attack percentage and five block assists to lead the Lakers (0-7 overall, 0-3 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference). Emily Snyder finished with six kills, and Chloe Balanda had five.

Danielle Taflinger, Mackenzie Vorst and Julie Lyons contributed eight kills each for Findlay (9-3 overall, 2-1 GLIAC), whose coach, Wick Colchagoff, garnered his 400th career victory.

Janelle Nagy totaled 25 assists, and Snyder and Meghan Drobish had 11 digs each for LSSU. Gaby Olsen and Balanda added three blocks each.

LSSU plays host to Wayne State at 2 p.m. Saturday. All active military personnel and veterans will receive free admission to the match.
