ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State University track and field program competed at the Grand Valley State Big Meet, racing against athletes from all levels of competition on Friday.

Ethan Nachazel (East Jordan, Mich.) placed 32nd overall in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:43.97 in his debut in the event. Meanwhile, Andrew Giddens (Cadillac, Mich.) finished with a time of 8.84 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles, two tenths of a second shy of his personal best, in a heat that included three NCAA Division I athletes.

Roy Bowman (Jerome, Mich.) also competed in the 5000-meter run alongside Nachazel but was unable to complete the event.

The Lakers return to action on Friday, Feb. 17 at the Saginaw Valley State Tune Up in the SVSU Fieldhouse.
