DEEPHAVEN, Minn. - Lake Superior State (LSSU) first-year player Jack Blanchett (Monroe, Mich.) has been named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Defenseman of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.

Blanchett scored the second goal of his career midway through the second period on Friday, firing the puck past Augustana goaltender Kayden Hargraves from near the blue line, and that would ultimately become the first game-winning goal of his young career. He would go on to finish the night +1 while helping hold off a late Viking attack to maintain the shutout defensively. 

This marks the first CCHA weekly honors of Blanchett's career.
