UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Lake Superior State (LSSU) track and field program competed at the 2025 GLIAC Indoor Championships where 18 different athletes set new personal records and a new school record was set in the indoor distance medley.
Gavin Guggemos recorded a personal best time of 1:53.91 in the 800-meter race to place within the top-10 of the event.
Mthan Meehle had a personal record of his own in the men's mile, placing 12th overall with a time of 4:37.95.
Rayce Rizzo managed to clear a height of 4.48m in the pole vault, placing 7th overall and scoring for his team.Â
Meanwhile, Avery Timm earned 3rd place in the heptathlon with 4292 points.
On the women's side, the top story of the event would be the distance medley unit of Sydney Kapushinski, Lindsey Tonello, Madison Morgan, and Izzy Yeoman coming together to finish with a time of 12:43.90, marking a new school record in the event, toppling the previous record that had stood for 20 years.Â
Yeoman would also place 12th overall in the 3000-meter race with a personal best time of 10:25.68.
Both Keira Lamming and Giselle Wiitanen set new personal records in the high jump, clearing respective heights of 1.50m and 1.45m, with Lamming placing within the top-10.
Meanwhile, Jayda Williams also had a top-10 finish in the long jump, clearing a distance of 5.09m.
In the Weight throw, Janelle Docter threw for a distance of 14.61m which set a new personal record and earned her a 6th place finish in the event, scoring for her team.
