ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State (LSSU) track and field program competed at the 2025 GVSU Al Owens Classic on Saturday with 24 total athletes setting new personal records at the event.
2025 Terry McDermott Award winner Izzy Yeoman (Genesee, Mich.) continued her stellar first collegiate season with a top-ten finish in the 5000-meter run with a time of 18:27.56.
Keira Lamming (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) would then finish ninth in the women's high jump, clearing a height of 1.53m.
Janelle Docter (Howard City, Mich.) earned a seventh place finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 41.51m.Â
Then, in women's javelin, Ava Donmyer (Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.) and Paige Johnson (Eckerman, Mich.) each earned top-ten finishes with respective throws of 31.22m and 25.97.
Avery Timm (Petoskey, Mich.) placed ninth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.49, and he would then go on to anchor a 4x100m relay unit alongside Brayden Heemer (Tawas, Mich.), Rayce Rizzo, and Michael Featherstone (Constantine, Mich.) that placed 5th overall with a time of 44.28.
Rizzo would also finish sixth in the pole vault after clearing a height of 4.51m.
