Kaylee Eiriksson scored for Lake Superior State in Friday night's cross-river clash with Sault College in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, CAN. But the Lakers were defeated 6-1 and 5-0 in their weekend series at the Northern Community Centre.

Eiriksson scored her second goal of the season for LSSU (0-6-0, 0-6-0 CCWHA) at 8:35 of the second period on Friday night, with an assist from Linnea Preugschas. The goal put the Lakers on the board, cutting the Cougars (3-0-0, 3-0-0 CCWHA) lead to 2-1. But the Lakers managed just four shots in the opening 40 minutes of the contest. They applied more pressure in the third, but were unable to break through. LSSU goaltender Kaylee Lang made 38 saves.

She was busy again on Saturday, making 28 stops for LSSU, including 15 in the second period. This season, Lang has an .895 save percentage through her first five games.

The Lakers are off next weekend, then hit the road to face Michigan-Dearborn at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena on October 23rd and 24th. They'll return home to face Sault College on October 30th and 31st, their first games at newly renovated Taffy Abel Arena this season.
