MIDLAND - Lake Superior State junior outside
hitter Ali Jones returned from an injury and totaled five
kills and five digs to lead the Lakers during Friday's 25-18,
25-12, 25-15 loss at Northwood.
LSSU (3-9 overall, 2-6 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference) was held to 14 team kills by the Timberwolves (7-9
overall, 4-4 GLIAC). Laker setter Ashley Purvis totaled 11 assists,
while libero Brittany Newberry had 17 digs.
Jones sat out one match after suffering a broken nose when
diving out of bounds for a ball last weekend.
Gordana Barac had 10 kills for Northwood, which finished with 44
team kills.
The Lakers play at 1 p.m. at Wayne State on Saturday.
