HOUGHTON - Michigan Tech shut down Lake
Superior State's attack, totaling 10 team blocks to LSSU's 0, to
prevail during Saturday's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference match.
MTU (7-3 overall, 2-0 GLIAC) defeated LSSU, 25-11, 25-21, 25-17.
Lake Superior State dropped to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in the GLIAC.
Sara Hess totaled seven kills, and Ali Jones followed with six
to lead the Lakers. Ashley Purvis had 18 assists, and Brittany
Newberry totaled 13 digs.
Twelve first-set attack errors cost the Lakers, but they
rebounded with a .200 attack rate during Set 2. Michigan Tech
totaled 41 kills to LSSU's 23.
