BIG RAPIDS - Saginaw Valley State, Grand Valley State and Ferris
State are in a three-way tie for first place in the Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference North Division following
Saturday's 3-0 wins by FSU over Lake Superior State and GVSU
over SVSU.
Ferris State downed LSSU, 25-10, 25-20, 25-16, to improve to
12-5 overall and 5-2 in the GLIAC. The Bulldogs had a .360 attack
percentage and 40 kills.
Sara Hess and Nikki Stratelak had seven kills each to lead Lake
Superior State (1-14 overall, 1-6 GLIAC). Brandiss Ward totaled 16
assists and seven digs, and Jessica Ewer had 14 digs.
Anne Sutton led FSU with 13 kills.
The Lakers return home to play Wayne State on Oct. 2 and
Northwood on Oct. 3.
