Box Score MIDLAND - Lake Superior State hit a season high with 48
first-half points and nearly matched the offensive pace in the
second half to beat Northwood 88-72 Thursday in a Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball contest.
The Lakers shot 60.6 percent from the field to build a 48-39
halftime lead. Junior guard Micah Hudson came off the bench to lead
LSSU with 16 points, while Scott Perkins had 10 and Kyle Hunt added
eight.
Hudson went on to finish with a career-high 29 points. He was
11-of-15 from the field, including 7-of-10 from three-point range.
LSSU (9-5 overall, 7-2 GLIAC) had a comfortable 66-49
lead with 13:04 remaining and built a 19-point command
during the final minute of play.
Perkins finished with 16 points, and Hunt had 15. Justin
Williams totaled eight points and a team-high eight rebounds.
LSSU shot 59 percent from the field for the game, including
10-of-19 from three-point range. The Lakers made 10-of-14 free
throws.
Lionel Sullivan led Northwood (7-6 overall, 4-5 GLIAC) with 28
points. The Timberwolves shot 42 percent from the field, including
6-of-19 from behind the arc. They made 18-of-26 free throws and
out-rebounded LSSU, 32-31.
The Lakers play at 3 p.m. Saturday at Wayne State.
