Box Score ALLENDALE - Fifteenth-ranked Grand Valley State secured its 10th
straight home victory by beating the Lake Superior State men's
basketball team 76-38 Saturday at GVSU Fieldhouse.
Grand Valley State (12-2 overall, 7-0 Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) dominated the game despite
shooting only 37.3 percent from the field. The Lakers held LSSU
(8-5 overall, 2-4 GLIAC) to 18 first-half points. LSSU shot 22.4
percent from the field and made 3-of-15 three-point attempts for
the game.
Kyle Hunt scored 12 points before fouling out and was the only
LSSU player to reach double figures. Justin Williams and Khalid
Wells scored six points each, and Willaims led LSSU in rebounds
with five.
Wes Treammell scored 16 points and Breland Hogan had 12 to lead
GVSU. Hogan was 4-for-4 from behind the arc for a team that
finished 12-of-25. Nick Carreri totaled 10 rebounds as Grand Valley
out-rebounded Lake Superior State, 45-34.
LSSU was 13-of-19 at the free-throw line, while GVSU was
20-of-26. Grand Valley State committed only seven turnovers.
The Lakers play at Michigan Tech on Thursday.
