Box Score MARQUETTE - Northern Michigan moved into sole possession of
third place in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
North Division with Friday's 25-14, 25-21, 25-19 volleyball victory
over Lake Superior State.
The Wildcats improved to 13-11 overall and 10-5 in the GLIAC.
LSSU, which is sixth in the North Division, fell to 7-15 overall
and 4-10 in the GLIAC.
Junior Nikki Stratelak totaled seven kills and three block
assists to lead the Lakers. Senior setter Janelle Balkwill added
six kills and 10 assists. Marylou Drobish had 14 assists, and
Brittany Newberry led in digs with 14.
Sami Vierk totaled 10 kills and had a .389 attack percentage to
lead NMU.
LSSU plays at Michigan Tech at 4 p.m. Saturday.
