Box Score SAULT STE. MARIE - Lake Superior State closed out a three-match
weekend with a 3-0 loss to Northwood Sunday at Bud Cooper
Gymnasium. The stretch also included road trips to Northern
Michigan and Michigan Tech, and the Lakers (8-16 overall, 5-11
Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) were 1-2 for the
weekend.
Northwood improved to 12-12 overall and 10-6 in the GLIAC with
the 25-15, 28-26, 25-19 win. The Timberwolves compiled 39 team
kills to LSSU's 25. Tatjana Rajic led NU with 15 kills.
Lindsay McLeod led the Lakers with five kills, a .214 attack
percentage, one solo block and five block assists. Marylou Drobish
totaled 14 assists, and Janelle Balkwill had nine. Brittany
Newberry finished with four kills and a team-high 13 digs, and
libero Katie Fitzpatrick had 11 digs. Chloe Balanda supported
McLeod at the net, totalling four block assists.
LSSU concludes the regular season with a three-match homestand
next weekend. The Lakers play host to Grand Valley State at 4 p.m.
Friday.
