FINDLAY, Ohio - Lake Superior State shot a season-high 68.5 percent from the field and amassed a season high in points while cruising to an 88-66 victory over Findlay during its final regular-season women's basketball game of the year.

Starting guard Nicole Marshall scored 27 points, and back-up forward Sarah Cubr came off the bench and scored 11 points, which were career highs for both LSSU players. Marshall was 11-of-15 from the field, including 5-of-7 from three-point range. She also contributed four assists. Cubr was 3-for-3 from behind the arc.

LSSU (16-9 overall, 13-6 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference), which snapped a three-game losing skid, also made a season-high 13 three-point field goals. The Lakers missed tying their school record for single-game threes by one.

Lake Superior State shot 65.4 percent from the field (17-of-26) to build a 40-35 halftime lead. The Lakers followed that performance by making 20-of-28 field-goal attempts for 71.4 percent during the second half. They were 8-of-9 from behind the arc during the final 20 minutes.

Emily Joseph turned in 16 points and a season-high eight assists, and Maria Blazejewski scored 14 points. Ronlea Peterson totaled six points and a team-high six rebounds as the Lakers out-rebounded Findlay, 24-16.

Kayla Brown scored 21 points, and Laura Bardall added 18 to lead Findlay (17-9 overall, 12-7 GLIAC). The Oilers shot 50 percent from the field, including 6-of-17 from three-point range. They made 14-of-16 free throws.

The Lakers head into post-season play as the No. 2 seed in the GLIAC Tournament. They play host to No. 7 Hillsdale on Wednesday, March 2. In other quarterfinal games, No. 5 Ashland plays at No. 4 Findlay, No. 6 Northwood travels to No. 3 Grand Valley State, and No. 8 Tiffin goes to No. 1 Michigan Tech.
