48 matches to claim bragging rights over the Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference at the 2012 GLVC-GLIAC
Crossover Tournament, which is the nation's largest collegiate
volleyball tournament.
LSSU (4-16) finished 0-3 after losing 3-1 to
Illinois-Springfield on Saturday afternoon. UIS defeated the
Lakers, 18-25, 25-22, 27-25, 25-20.
Emily Snyder totaled 15 kills, and Nikki Stratelak added 13
kills and 11 digs to lead LSSU. Meghan Drobish totaled a team-high
20 digs. Snyder, Billie McLeod and Chloe Balanda led the Lakers in
blocks as LSSU totaled 10.5 team blocks to Illinois-Springfield's
8.0.
Lake Superior State also lost 3-1 to St. Joseph's on
Saturday morning, falling 25-17, 16-25, 26-24, 25-20.
Stratelak totaled 17 kills, and Snyder contributed 15 kills and
17 digs to lead the Lakers (4-15). Meghan Drobish had 24 digs,
while MaryLou Drobish turned in 46 assists. Sydne McMullen totaled
one solo block and six block assists.
