Box Score SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - Lake Superior State end the series
with 2-1 lost to Ferris State. The Lakers (5-5-0 overall, 3-3-0
CCHA) and Bulldogs (4-4-2 overall, 3-3-0 CCHA) entered into a
five-way tie for first place in the CCHA with Notre Dame, Miami,
and Michigan State as of release time.
FSU found the back of the net at 3:05 of the first period with a
power-play goal from Cory Kane. At 14:19 of the first the Bulldogs
gained a 2-0 lead on the Lakers.
The lone Laker goal came from junior defenseman Zach Sternberg
(2-5--7). Sternberg's goal was a power-play goal from
senior forward Nick McParland (3-5--8).
The Lakers were held to 1-for-7 on the power-play while Ferris
State was 1-for-4.
Junior goalie Kevin Murdock (3-3-0) tallied 26 saves for the
Lakers while Motte stopped 43 saves for Ferris State.
The Lakers will be home Nov. 16-17 to face non-conference
opponent Alabama-Huntsville.
