Box Score BAY CITY, Mich. – Two members of the Lake Superior State
women's tennis team earned 2012 All-Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference after leading the Lakers to a
10-9 record during the fall season and 6-9 finish the GLIAC.
Sophomore Erin Anderson-Scott, a native of Hamilton, New
Zealand, earned All-GLIAC Second-Team honors. Anderson-Scott was
11-8 overall at No. 1 singles and 7-7 in the GLIAC. She and doubles
partner Sarah Awe (Washington Township, Mich.) posted an 11-8
overall record and 6-8 GLIAC mark at No. 1 singles.
"Erin is extremely deserving of this honor,” LSSU coach
Tom Linhart said. “She had a very strong freshman year, then
worked extremely hard for this season and the results have shown.
She came in prepared and not only moved up a spot in both doubles
and singles but had great success. I'm proud of her and the work
she has put in, and couldn't be happier."
Awe, a freshman, received All-GLIAC Honorable Mention after
finishing 14-5 overall at No. 3 singles and 9-5 in the GLIAC.
"Sarah had an outstanding rookie season, and is quickly making
herself known as one of the top players in our conference,”
Linhart said. “I expect great things out of Sarah in her
career here at LSSU. The sky is the limit.”
The Lakers resume their season on Feb. 24 at Indianapolis.
