Box Score SAULT STE. MARIE - The Lake Superior State women's basketball
season ended Saturday with a 55-41 loss to Findlay in Bud Cooper
Gymnasium.
Senior guard Jasmine Brown scored 13 points to lead the Lakers
in her final collegiate contest. Senior center Cassy Schemberger
contributed seven points and eight rebounds, and senior forward
Sarah Cubr added seven points, three rebounds and two steals.
During a low-scoring first half, Findlay (15-11 overall, 9-10
Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) pulled away
from an 18-18 deadlock to lead 25-20 at halftime. The Oilers never
relinquished their lead in the second half.
Clare Aubry scored 12 points, and Kendra Elam added eight points
and nine rebounds to lead Findlay, which shot 35.2 percent from the
field. The Oilers made 8-of-19 three-point attempts and 9-of-13
free throws.
Maria Blazejewski added eight points and a team-high 10 rebounds
for LSSU, which shot 26.8 percent from the field. The Lakers (10-16
overall, 6-13 GLIAC) shot 26.8 percent from the field. They were
4-of-20 from behind the arc and 7-of-10 at the free-throw line.
LSSU out-rebounded Findlay, 45-37.
