FINDLAY, Ohio - Lake Superior State lost its Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball road opener Friday at Findlay, 25-18, 25-16, 25-13.

Freshman Gaby Olsen led the Lakers in kills with six, while junior Emily Snyder had three kills and two solo blocks. Junior Katie Fitzpatrick had the team high in digs with 10.

Mackenzie Vorst totaled 18 kills for Findlay (5-6 overall, 2-2 GLIAC).

DETROIT - LSSU also dropped a 3-0 decision at Wayne State on Saturday, falling 25-17, 25-21, 25-20.

Junior Chloe Balanda led the Lakers (3-9 overall, 0-4 GLIAC) with eight kills and one block assist, while Olsen added seven kills and posted a .600 attack percentage. Senior setter MaryLou Drobish totaled 25 assists, and Fitzpatrick and eight digs.

Kristen Bulkiewicz compiled 12 kills on 20 attempts (.450) to lead Wayne State (10-3 overall, 5-0 GLIAC).

The Lakers play at Saginaw Valley State on Tuesday.
