Box Score SAULT STE. MARIE - Ashland relied on impressive quickness to
beat Lake Superior State 25-18, 25-16, 25-14 Friday and improve to
12-2 overall and 5-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference.
The Eagles, who are tied for third overall in the GLIAC
volleyball standings behind undefeated Wayne State and
Northwood, limited the Lakers (3-11 overall, 0-6 GLIAC) to 21
kills. Brittany Snider led AU with 16 kills.
Nikki Stratelak led Lake Superior State with eight kills and
nine digs. Meghan Drobish contributed 12 digs, while Gaby Olsen and
Chloe Balanda both had two block assists.
LSSU plays host to Lake Erie at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bud Cooper
Gym.
