Box Score SAULT STE. MARIE - Lake Superior State finished 0-3 during its
season-opening volleyball homestand following Tuesday's 3-1 loss to
Saginaw Valley State.
SVSU (7-6 overall, 2-3 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference) dominated the fourth set to pull off a 25-21, 25-19,
20-25, 25-12 victory at Bud Cooper Gymnasium.
Emily Snyder totaled 12 kills and 10 digs, and Jen Marren added
11 to lead LSSU (0-9 overall, 0-5 GLIAC). Sydne McMullen paced the
Lakers in attack percentage at .227. Janelle Nagy totaled 32
assists, and Meghan Drobish had 19 digs.
Mackenzie Frodle and Kelsey Ferla totaled 11 kills each for
Saginaw Valley State. Frodle, Ferla and Kaylee Schmitt accounted
for 12 of the Cardinals' 16 block assists. SVSU totaled 11 kills to
LSSU's six during the final set.
The Lakers play at Ashland Friday.
