Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio - Lake Superior State and Lake Erie were
neck-and-neck until the Storm took off to an 8-1 lead in the
match-deciding fifth set of Saturday's Great Lakes Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference volleyball contest.
Lake Erie went on to win, 22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 17-25, 15-9 to
garner its first victory of the season. LSSU dropped to 0-11
overall and 0-7 in the GLIAC. The Lakers fell to 0-2 in five-set
matches.
The Storm took advantage of five Laker attack errors during its
early fifth-set run.
Emily Snyder led LSSU with a career-high 22 kills, a .356 attack
percentage, 10 digs and three block assists. Gaby Olsen followed
with 10 kills, three solo blocks and one block assist, and Jen
Marren also had 10 kills.
Sydne McMullen finished with eight kills, two solo blocks and
three block assists. Janelle Nagy had a season-high 47 assists, and
Meghan Drobish totaled 16 digs.
Sara Aultz and Molly Richardson had 13 kills each to lead Lake
Erie (1-10 overall, 1-6 GLIAC).
The Lakers play host to Tiffin at 4 p.m. Friday at Cooper
Gymnasium.
