Box Score SAULT STE. MARIE - Lake Superior State closed the 2013
volleyball season with a 26-24, 25-19, 25-20 loss to Northern
Michigan Saturday at Bud Cooper Gymnasium.
The Lakers (4-21 overall, 2-16 Great Lakes Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference) held slim leads midway through the first two
sets, but NMU (22-9 overall, 15-3 GLIAC) rallied back both times
and dominated the third set.
Senior Emily Snyder led LSSU with 11 kills, while Jen Marren
followed with 10 kills and a .333 attack percentage. Janelle Nagy
totaled 26 assists 10 digs, and Meghan Drobish had 14 digs. Senior
Chloe Balanda led the Lakers in blocks with three.
Snyder finished her career with 838 career kills, which puts her
10th on LSSU's all-time kills list.
Kalli Herron totaled 12 kills and Sarah Hamilton 10 to lead NMU.
Bridget Bussell compiled two block solos and seven block assists.
The Wildcats finished the regular season in a second-place tie with
Ferris State in the GLIAC North Division. Grand Valley State won
the North Division title outright.
