BIG RAPIDS - Ferris State remained within two matches of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference North Division leader Grand Valley State with Friday's 25-19, 25-20, 25-14 victory over Lake Superior State during a rare week-day noon contest.

Senior Chloe Balanda totaled 10 kills and a .368 attack percentage to lead LSSU (4-18 overall, 2-13 GLIAC). She also had two block assists.

Jen Marren finished with eight kills, and Sydne McMullen had six kills and two blocks. Janelle Nagy totaled 23 digs, and Meghan Drobish finished with 21 digs.

Angi Kent totaled 11 kills and a .455 attack rate, and Courtney Rehm followed with 10 kills for Ferris State (19-7 overall, 12-3 GLIAC).

The Lakers play at GVSU at 4 p.m. Saturday.
