Box Score ALLENDALE - Grand Valley State survived a 22-point effort by
Lake Superior State senior Maria Blazejewski and defeated LSSU
73-53 Thursday.
GVSU (16-6 overall, 12-6 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference) outscored LSSU 24-6 from behind the arc to decide the
contest. Dani Crandall totaled 12 points and eight rebounds to lead
four double-figure scorers for GVSU.
Blazejewski also led LSSU (5-17 overall, 4-14 GLIAC) in rebounds
with nine. Kandace Crittendon added 11 points and five rebounds.
LSSU shot 35 percent from the field, including 2-of-11 from behind
the arc, and made 9-of-17 free throws. The Lakers committed 21
turnovers, but out-rebounded GVSU, 38-36.
Grand Valley State shot 53.8 percent from the field during the
first half to build a 41-32 lead. GVSU shot 46.2 percent from the
field, including 8-of-20 from behind the arc, and made 17-of-24
free throws for the game. The Lakers put the contest out of
reach with approximately six minutes remaining.
LSSU plays at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ferris State.
