Box Score SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - Lake Superior State lost another nail
biter against No. 3 Miami, falling 2-1 Saturday at the Taffy Abel
Arena. It was the Lakers' second straight one-goal loss to the
RedHawks and fourth straight one-goal decision against them. They
finished 1-3 against Miami during the regular season.
The Lakers (15-18-1 overall, 10-15-1-1 Central Collegiate Hockey
Association) head to Marquette, Mich., next weekend for their
final CCHA regular-season series against Northern Michigan.
Miami (21-8-5 overall, 16-6-4-4 CCHA) opened the game with a
power-play goal by Riley Barber at 8:42 of the first
period.
Junior forward Dan Radke (5-14--18) tallied the lone LSSU goal
on assists from sophomore defender Kevin Czuczman (2-8--10) and
junior defender Zach Sternberg (5-12--17).
At 10:25 of the second period, Miami's Matthew Caito tallied
the game-winning goal.
LSSU's netminder Kevin Kapalka (6-6-1) recorded the loss for the
Lakers, facing 31 shots. Ryan McKay stopped 44 of
45 shots for the RedHawks.
