MARQUETTE - Northern Michigan improved to 8-3 overall and 2-0 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with Saturday's three-set volleyball victory over Lake Superior State.

NMU defeated LSSU, 25-10, 25-20, 25-15, at the Berry Events Center.

Emily Snyder totaled seven kills and Gaby Olsen had six to lead LSSU (0-6 overall, 0-2 GLIAC). Setter Janelle Nagy had 21 assists, and libero Meghan Drobish totaled 11 digs.

Kalli Herron had 12 kills and Sarah Harrington 10 for Northern Michigan.

The Lakers play their home opener Sept. 27 against Findlay. It will be Hawaiian Luau Night at Cooper Gymnasium.
