Box Score SAULT STE. MARIE - Lake Superior State rallied back from a 23-19
deficit during the first set of Friday's home volleyball match
against Michigan Tech, but the Huskies held on to win 26-24.
MTU carried momentum from the first-set win through the rest of
the match and swept the Lakers, 26-24, 25-12, 25-21.
Sylvie Rokosh totaled 13 kills and Lauren Emmert had a .375
attack percentage to lead Michigan Tech (1-0 Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, 2-4 overall).
Sydne McMullen totaled eight kills and a team-high .353 attack
rate to lead LSSU (1-5 overall, 0-1 GLIAC). Jen Marren added six
kills, and Janelle Nagy and Jenna Kilmer had four each. Nagy also
totaled 16 assists, while libero Meghan Drobish totaled 12
digs.
Kilmer added eight digs, and Elizabeth Ballor compiled a
match-leading four block assists.
LSSU, which is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Laker women's
volleyball and softball this weekend, plays host to Northern
Michigan at 3 p.m. Saturday.
