Box Score SAULT STE. MARIE - More than two dozen Lake Superior State
softball and volleyball alumni gathered to celebrate the 40th
anniversary of the two Laker programs. They were recognized during
Saturday's volleyball match against Northern Michigan.
In the midst of the weekend-long festivities, the Wildcats (2-0
Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, 2-4 overall)
defeated the Lakers, 25-21, 25-13, 25-15.
Lisa Studnicka compiled 12 kills and a .400 attack percentage to
lead the Lakers (0-2 GLIAC, 1-6 overall). Kayla Chosa followed with
10 kills and a .625 attack rate as NMU had a team attack percentage
of .265.
Jen Marren totaled six kills and Sydne McMullen had five for
LSSU. Jenna Kilmer had four kills and the Lakers' highest attack
rate of .667. Janelle Nagy totaled 14 assists, and Meghan Drobish
had 10 digs. Brooklyn Gerber and McMullen finished with three
blocks each.
LSSU travels to Findlay on Sept. 19.
