HOUGHTON - Upper Iowa overcame a third-set loss by winning the fourth set decisively to claim a 3-1 victory over Lake Superior State during Day 2 of the Joey's Keeweenaw Volleyball Classic host by Michigan Tech.

Upper Iowa (3-0) defeated LSSU, 25-15, 25-19, 23-25, 25-6.

Sydne McMullen and Jenna Kilmer led LSSU (1-3) with nine kills each, and Elizabeth Ballor followed with eight. Ballor committed only one attack error and posted an impressive .467 attack percentage, while McMullen came in at .304.

Setter Janelle Nagy totaled 16 assists, and Madison Castle followed with 13. Libero Meghan Drobish contributed 21 digs, and Kilmer had 10.

Jennifer Mundt had 18 kills for Upper Iowa, which finished with a team attack percentage of .349.

LSSU closed the tournament with a 25-9, 25-7, 25-8 loss to Minnesota-Duluth (3-0).
