Box Score BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - Lake Superior State women's basketball dropped the second consecutive game on the road with a 71-56 loss at Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival Ferris State on Saturday.
The Lakers (5-20, 4-15 GLIAC) were led by junior guard Mackenzie Edwards with 19 points and three rebbounds.
Rachel McInerney and Alexis Huntey led the way with a pair of double-doubles for the Bulldogs (5-20, 5-14 GLIAC). McInerney produced a game-high 32 points and reached a double-double with 12 rebounds, while Huntey netted 11 points and hauled in a game-high 22 rebounds.
The Bulldogs held a 47-31 advantage in rebounding and shot 66.7 percent (8-for-12) from behind the three point-line.
Freshman guard Valerie Meissner contributed a double-double of her own with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Meissner also dished out five assists and limited her turnovers to just one on the game.
In 10 minutes off the bench, Tamara Novic scored nine points and added six rebounds.
The Lakers remain on the road next week with a game at Northern Michigan at 6 p.m. on Thursday before facing Michigan Tech in Houghton at 1 p.m., next Saturday.
