PLYMOUTH, Mich. – A hat trick from
Luke Levandowski (Rosemount, Minn.) helped propel the Lake Superior State (LSSU) hockey program to a 4-1 exhibition victory over the Simon Fraser Red Leafs on Saturday.
Levandowski opened up the scoring with a goal five minutes into the game with
Johnny Druskinis (Plymouth, Mich.) and
Reagan Milburn (Kamloops, B.C.) picking up assists on the play.
In the second period, the Lakers were able to take advantage of a pair of power play opportunities with Levandowski's second score of the day ultimately being the game-winner as well as a strike from
John Herrington (Hudson's Hope, B.C.) with just over three minutes left on the clock.
Simon Fraser was able to get on the board in the third period with a goal from Holden Cardinal, but Levandowski completed the hat trick with 1:11 to play as the Lakers closed out the 4-1 victory to go unbeaten on the weekend.
The Lakers will now return to the Soo to prepare to welcome Stonehill for a weekend series for Great Lake State Weekend with puck drop of game one scheduled for 7:07 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18.
