THOMPSONVILLE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State (LSSU) women's golf program opened their fall season by placing 3rd overall at the LTU Collegiate Kickoff on Wednesday. 

Sophomore Kiera Cotter (Etobicoke, Ont.) led the way for the Lakers after shooting five over par on the third round to jump into a tie for second place on the individual leaderboard with a three-round total of +27 (+9, +13, +5). Lekisha Sasitharan (Shah Alam, Malaysia) finished second among her teammates at +38 (+8, +16, +14) for seventh place overall with Jesse Hellebuyck (Almont, Mich.) also placing in the top 10 overall with a ninth place finish at +44 (+16, +15, +13). Natalie Kellogg (Montague, Mich.) and Mackenzie Davidson (Rockford, Mich.) rounded out the lineup with respective totals of +57 (+16, +19, +22) and +64 (+22, +30, +12).

The Lakers return to action on Sunday, Sept. 22 when they travel to Detroit for the Warrior Invitational.
