Box Score Another day, another monster stat line by
Omar Suleiman. The redshirt sophomore scored 24 points, hitting 10 of his 14 shots, in a dominant 89-65 Lake Superior State victory over Rochester Christian Monday afternoon.
Suleiman hit four three-pointers for LSSU (4-5, 0-2 GLIAC). He's scored 20 or more points in five of nine Laker games this season, and continues to cement himself as a prime time player in the GLIAC.
The Lakers raced out to a 13-0 lead over Rochester Christian (8-4), led by three triples from Suleiman. His early connections put the Lakers in charge out of the gates, but the Lakers would continue to hammer the Warriors from deep throughout the contest. LSSU knocked down 16 three-pointers, a season-high by the team. Going the other way, the Lakers defended extremely well, limiting the Warriors to 16.7% from deep.
Harrison Sorrelle scored 14 for LSSU, hitting four of his seven three-point shots. From the bench,
Gavin Grondin scored double-figures for the first time in his collegiate career, reaching 10 points.
Dominic Krzesowiak shot a perfect 4-for-4 from the field for 10 points as well.
Robin Benipal dazzleed with his passing in the second half. He found open teammates consistently, notching four assists for the Lakers.
It was a dominant performance for LSSU to open a week with three home games. LSSU faces Kuyper College on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the Bud Cooper Gym, then the Lakers host Algoma on Friday at 1:00 PM.
