SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - Hunter Soper (Lexington, Mich.) has been selected as the GLIAC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for the sixth time this season, as announced by the league office on Monday.

On Thursday, Soper recorded four steals on the night to help the Lakers pull away in the second half against Wisconsin-Parkside while also securing 11 rebounds. Then on Saturday, he tacked on two more steals to help his team overcome a first half that saw them struggling to find their rhythm on offense, and one of his steals directly resulted in him scoring a fast break dunk in transition to give the Lakers the momentum they needed to pull out a win on Senior Day. 

Soper and the Lakers return to action on Thursday, Feb. 27 when they travel to face the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals with tipoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
