36th Annual Lake State Golf Classic Scramble Presented by Fudge Du Locke set for Friday, August 1st at Wild Bluff.
SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The 36th Annual Lake State Classic Golf Tournament and auction, in support of Lake Superior State University and Laker Athletics, will be held Friday, August 1st at Wild Bluff Golf Course in Brimley, Michigan. The event this year is presented by Fudge Du Locke, who has consistently been a supporter of Laker Athletics.
"The Lake State Classic has now sold out multiple years in a row, and is a fun event for everyone involved regardless of golf skills," commented Andrew Rubinstein, LSSU Sr. Director of Advancement. "Wild Bluff is a beautiful course, and has been a great partner over the years for the event. We are looking forward to another year of coming together to support our students and student-athletes."
The event will begin at 8am with breakfast provided for each golfer, and the four-person scramble will tee off with a shotgun start at 9am. There will be multiple special events and lunch will be available for all golfers.
The Classic online auction opens for bidding on July 21st and will close the evening of August 1st. Auction items include authentic Red Wings gear, including autographed sticks, as well as other various items and experiences.
"The Lake State Classic continues to be a premier golf event in the Upper Peninsula," said Scott Smith, LSSU VP of Advancement, Legislation and Alumni Relations. "We are looking forward to adding in the Classic Social the night before, and are excited at the possibility of selling out the event for the third year in a row, which will once again bring in over $35,000 in support of LSSU."
Team registrations will be $165/golfer, or $660/team, and all major sponsorships at the silver level ($1,750 and above) come with a team included.
