SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State (LSSU) volleyball program has unveiled its schedule for the 2025 season, as announced by Head Coach Eric Snyder on Monday.
The Lakers open the 2025 campaign at the Illinois-Springfield (UIS) Tournament on September 5-6 where they will face Kentucky Wesleyan and the hosts, UIS, on the first day of competition before taking on Quincy the following afternoon. Then, a week later, they will spend three days competing at the University of Minnesota-Mankato where they will battle against Northern State, the hosts MSU-Mankato, Minnesota-Crookston, and their second neutral-site matchup against Quincy.
LSSU will open Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action with four-straight road contests, starting with a matchup at Grand Valley State (GVSU) on September 19 before traveling to Wayne State the following day. They will then face off against Saginaw Valley State (SVSU) and Purdue Northwest (PNW) one week later.Â
The Lakers will then welcome the Michigan Tech Huskies to the Bud Cooper Gymnasium for their home-opener on October 3, and they will take on their other Upper Peninsula rival, the Northern Michigan Wildcats the next day. Then, on the following weekend, the Lakers are set to host Davenport and Ferris State.Â
LSSU will pause conference action for the annual Midwest Regional Crossover Tournament on October 17-18, but they will jump right back in the following weekend when they travel to the other side of Lake Michigan to take on Wisconsin-Parkside and Roosevelt. The Lakers will then host SVSU and PNW on Halloween Weekend.
The Lakers open their November Slate by hosting Wayne State and GVSU on November 7 and 8, respectively, before closing out the regular season with a road trip across the Upper Peninsula for matches at Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech.Â
