Box Score Peter Nwoke scored 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting and snatched eight rebounds for Lake Superior State on Thursday night against Wisconsin Parkside. The forward hit all five field goals in the second half and scored 11 points, but the Lakers (7-7, 1-4 GLIAC) dropped a 79-72 defeat.
The redshirt senior set his new career-high mark for points in the game, continuing a strong run of play. He scored 16 points off the bench against Algoma, then 10 against Purdue Northwest while shooting efficiently from the field. He also blocked a shot and stole the ball once against the Rangers (7-5, 2-4 GLIAC).
Omar Suleiman scored 15 for the Lakers with five rebounds and four assists. Point guard
Nino Carter-Smith shared the ball well, passing for five assists while plundering four steals.
The Lakers attacked the glass well, grabbing 17 offensive rebounds and converting them into 17 second chance points. They scored 48 of their 72 total points inside the paint as well, as they controlled the interior.
Josiah Palmer scored 22 points for Parkside, while Lukas Mateski scored 17. Mateski hit 11 free throws, and the Rangers drew 29 foul shots, compared to just 16 for LSSU.
